Camden's career planning services are designed to help individuals take an active role in shaping, managing and taking charge of their own career paths. Organizations benefit by developing more dedicated and committed employees and by communicating that each person has input into how his or her career will unfold over time. Individuals who have clearly identified career goals and strategies are likely to be more committed and productive, as well as better aligned with the goals of the organization.

The Audience
Camden works closely with our clients' human resources representatives and managers to customize career planning programs for employees. Programs have wide appeal, but may be particularly helpful to those organizations:

  • Seeking to introduce an organization-wide career development process
  • Undergoing change because of a reorganization, restructuring, reduction in force, merger or acquisition
  • Experiencing employee retention challenges, especially among high performers
The Camden Approach
Camden's career planning services combine workshop and group work with one-on-one career coaching. Programs are generally presented as a multi-session workshop with follow-up consulting to work on individual career plans. Workshops are best delivered in groups of 10-20 employees with several days allotted between the sessions in order for participants to work on their own plans and strategies. Although each engagement is tailored to address specific individual and organizational needs, the Camden approach typically involves a number of common elements, including:

  • Interviewing senior managers to understand the culture and objectives of the organization and to customize the program's design
  • Pre-workshop assessments for participants to identify skills, interests and values
  • Workshops to provide feedback on self-assessments, focus on options for career development and explore strategies for action planning
  • Individual consulting sessions to craft personalized plans for career development
