Camden works with client organizations and key executives who are new to their positions. Executive assimilation coaching is designed to help the newly-placed executive quickly understand the organization and its goals, avoid missteps and stumbling blocks and gain some early success in the new role.
The Audience
Camden's executive assimilation coaching is effective for high-level and senior executives who are new to the organization or who have recently assumed key leadership roles. It is particularly well suited for executives who:
- Have solid experience but from different organizational cultures, functional disciplines or industries
- Are charged with a mandate to drive change and organizational improvements
The Camden Approach
Executive assimilation coaching engagements generally span three to six months and involve several critical steps, including: assessment and feedback, action planning, coaching during the implementation of the plan and ongoing monitoring of progress. Each assignment is tailored to address unique individual and organizational needs. Typically the Camden approach involves a number of common elements, including:
- An assessment of the new organizational culture, environment and objectives compared to those from where the executive has come
- An assessment of the skills and leadership attributes of the executive
- A developmental action plan that enables the executive to:
- Listen and evaluate the current climate and organization's history
- Establish critical short-term priorities
- Match his or her skills to the needs of the organization
- Take early action to establish credibility and effectiveness
- Create a vision and build a team
- One-on-one coaching to assist the executive in the implementation of the plan
- Regular feedback and monitoring of progress with the executive's supervisor and/or other key constituents within the organization
